The AEON project has recently flown to Amsterdam Schiphol to meet the partners of the ALBATROSS project, an SJU-funded industrial project aiming to demonstrate how the technical and operational R&D achievements of last years can transform the current fuel-intensive aviation into an environment-friendly industry sector.
The two Consortia were able to exchange the results from the research activity on efficient taxiing. AEON collected precious insights on the operations carried out during the TaxiBot trials done at Schiphol last year. The Dutch airport got the chance to comprehend the preliminary concept of sustainable taxiing operations and see the supporting algorithms developed by AEON.
During the two-day meeting, we had the strong sense that we were discussing the future, not only of Paris and Amsterdam airports but that of airports around the world as well.
